Regular field monitoring is the cornerstone of a responsive and accountable health system. Understanding the realities at grass root level allows us to make informed decisions reflecting the needs of the people. CRM visits enables Government of India to embrace the innovations, digital health solutions and community driven initiatives to make healthcare accessible, inclusive and impactful. The objective behind CRM visits is to identify the best practices and innovations in various states. Also, it helps states to understand the status of implementation with national perspectives. The activities under Primary, secondary care services including availability of medicines and diagnostic services, quality of care, progress of centrally sponsored schemes, improvement in infrastructure and human resources as per IPHS and NQAS norms and cross cutting themes are being studied with the respective state context, which will help to close the service delivery gaps.
MoHFW periodically conducts Common Review Mission (CRM) for review and concurrent evaluation of the health system in an impartial way. 16th CRM and 17th CRM were conducted in 2024-25 and 2025-26 respectively. SHSRC played a crucial role for participating in 16th CRM and 17 th CRM along with National and other State Representatives as follows
Participation in CRM provided valuable insights into primary and secondary healthcare delivery, infrastructure, quality standards, and innovative practices across states. These learnings contribute to strengthening health systems and improving service delivery in Maharashtra.
State Review Mission (SRM) is conducted to review the implementation and performance of health programmes at the state and district levels. It provides an opportunity to assess progress, identify implementation gaps, and strengthen health system performance through evidence-based recommendations.
SRM focuses on evaluating key health system components including service delivery, infrastructure, human resources, programme implementation, and quality of care. The findings help in improving planning, strengthening programme execution, and enhancing overall health service delivery in Maharashtra.
